"I have been using my new golf mat and birdie balls for about 4 weeks now and I absolutely believe they are the best training aid I have ever used. I try and hit them every chance I can the results are that I have lost at least 5 strokes a round.
I have the mat set up at the back of my driveway looking over part of my back yard with 3 targets to shoot to. By the way my 7 year old grand son uses the mat more than I do, we let him hit real golf balls for now but that won't last much longer.

I have been skeptical of golf mats that claim to feel like grass. I love the game of golf and want practice equipment that will help me improve my game. I've been through a number of golf mats that had claimed to feel like grass and up until now have been disappointed. Before spending hundreds if dollars on another promise I wanted to "test drive" the Country Club Elite Mat for myself.
I combined a recent trip to visit my daughter in Pennsylvania with a trip to Jay McGrath's "backyard golf course" with my check book in hand. I told him that if his Country Club Elite mat was as good as he said it was I'd write a check on the spot. I have been working on taking a consistent dollar bill sized divot when striking the ball, so I need a practice mat that provides realistic feedback.
I only needed to take a few swings with my 7-iron to know that I came to the right place. I purchased the 5x5 on the spot - if your looking for a great practice aid you should too.

I received my golf mat hitting strip and it is a great product. I took it to the range for the first time the other day because the mats at my local range are hard as rock. I stand on their mat and place my new 10" x 30" Country Club Elite hitting strip next to it for hitting. It's a super easy way to get more out of my driving range practice.
The person in the stall next to me even had to try it out. It is safe to say you will have another order for the small Country Club Elite. It is perfect to take to the driving range.

My son uses our new golf practice mat all the time. He is on the high school golf team here and we have had a ton of bad weather days. this has come in really handy. He basically gets to practice everyday of the week... even if the weather is bad. We have it set up in our garage. We have a net in there that he hits the balls against.
It looks and feels awesome. You can not even tell that he hits off of it. I thought that you would be able to see scuff marks, but not at all. It feels like a plush fairway on a resort course... not hard on the feet at all.
Fun... since we use it inside it provides the opportunity to hit balls everyday of the week... most importantly on bad weather days here.
We are very happy with the product.

Jay, I want to thank you for making these mats available. I am a foot/ankle surgeon that had developed both a sore left wrist and golfer's elbow of my right arm that was potentially leading to serious impairment. Both of these injuries were a direct result of using a very poor quality and easily available mat for practicing during our snowy winter months. I easily hit 100 balls a day in my garage and won't follow my own advice and rest. Thanks to your mat I can continue to practice. Within one week my wrist was well and my elbow was almost non-existent and improving daily. Besides the obvious health benefits I find that your mat truly functions as you advertised. It performs like a fairway in feel and lets you know if you hit it fat, again without my wrist and arm taking the abuse. An added benefit is that it wears like iron. I've been using my new mat it's AMAZING.
Starting last year I decided that during the winter I was going to hit golf balls into a net down in my basement for a minimum of 15 minutes per day to stay prepared for the next season. I bought a mat for $59 thinking that this mat, which was fairly thick would serve me for several years and give me a fairly true feel of hitting the ball from the fairway. The first problem was with that much use the mat started coming apart and I had to replace it the first winter. The second problem was that I could not tell when I hit the ball fat because the mat unlike natural turf allowed the club to slide across it. Your mat allowed me to feel when I hit the ball fat because it slowed down my club much like natural turf. I can also hit down on the ball with your mat without worrying about damaging the mat. That mat is durable. I've used it for a few weeks now and cannot detect any wear. I'm practicing better and more productively.

I wanted to let you know that I truly believe your new Country Club Elite Golf Mat is the best artificial surface on the market. This spring we Installed 24 of your mats to create a tee line for outings and grass tee relief as needed. The product still looks like new and our members love it. It really does eliminate the problems common with most mats - there is no bounce and the feel really is REAL. I was concerned about forcing members to hit off of mats since we have always had a natural grass practice range. But the response has been sooo good that some of my membership would prefer to hit off of the mats even when they don't have too. Hi Jay, Here is a picture of my set-up. The pin is 90 yards from the mat. I dug out and put 2 inches of crusher run rock as a base for drainage. Think this will prolong life of base. I also keep it covered with a tarp. I am extremely pleased with your mat. There is nothing that comes close to the quality, durability, or feel of your product available at local golf shops. Results of having the opportunity to practice more are obvious. Thanks again for providing a product over the internet that truly lives up to its promises.
